FAIRFIELD, Maine — The Maine State Police and the Fairfield Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating a Fairfield woman who has been missing for more than two weeks.

Valerie Tieman, 34, was last seen at Wal-Mart in Skowhegan, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

She was reported missing Sept. 9 to Fairfield police by her parents, who live out of state, McCausland said Thursday in a news release. State police joined the investigation Tuesday.

Valerie Tieman lives on the Norridgewock Road in Fairfield with her husband, Luc Tieman, who has cooperated with investigators, the release said. Luc Tieman told police he had gone into the store, and she was missing from the truck when he returned a short time later.

She was described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Valerie Tieman’s whereabouts is asked to call state police in Augusta at 624-7076.
