LINCOLNVILLE, Maine — Waldo County detectives are investigating after a woman says she was sexually assaulted at work last month by a man who blew a powder into her face that rendered her unconscious.
Police started investigating Oct. 1 when they received the report, several days after the woman says a man walked into the Lincolnville business where she was working alone, walked up to the counter and blew the powder into her face.
The woman told police the powder knocked her out and she believes she was sexually assaulted while unconscious. Waldo County detectives are consulting with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Maine State Police on their investigation.
Investigators say the suspect was described as an “older male,” with brown wavy hair standing 6-feet to 6-feet-2-inches tall, weighing over 200 pounds, according to a Friday news release from the sheriff’s office.
“Detectives are investigating every aspect of this case and encourage anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious to contact Detective Dale Brown of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office,” the release states.
