SANFORD, Maine — Detectives with the Sanford Police Department arrested a 28-year-old man on Friday in connection with the 2015 armed robbery of the Super 8 motel located at 1842 Main St.
Ryan Harris of Sanford was arrested Friday on a warrant obtained from the court after an extensive investigation related to the robbery, which occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. Nov. 24, 2015, Detective Sgt. Matthew Jones said in a news release.
Harris is being held at York County Jail on $25,000 bail.
According to police, Harris entered the motel armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk. When the attempt failed, police said, he ran away from the motel.
After the release of surveillance video, the case received national notoriety when it was aired on the Nancy Grace show. The case had remained open and active since that time.
