BREWER, Maine — The Brewer School Committee has scheduled a special board meeting at 4 p.m. Tuesday in order to hold a closed-door gathering about a personnel issue.

No details about what member of the school department would be involved in the executive session were released by Superintendent Cheri Towle.

Principal David Wall is currently on leave. Wall left his post at Brewer High School in mid-October and has since hired Skelton Taintor & Abbott, an Auburn law firm, to represent him. Details about the reason behind his departure have not been made public.

His attorney Rebecca Webber said last week that Wall’s departure had nothing to do with the First Amendment or with any students, and it had everything to do with his interactions with Towle.

Towle declined to answer whether she would be in Brewer on Tuesday.
