FRENCHVILLE, Maine — A 17-year-old driver and his passenger were injured after the truck they were riding in rolled over on Pelletier Avenue early Saturday morning, according to Maine State Police.

State police determined that speed and alcohol were factors in the rollover, according to Cpl. Chuck Michaud.

Michaud did not identify the driver, but he said that charges were pending.

The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m., when the driver lost control of the Dodge Ram 1500 pickup he was driving and left the roadway, Michaud said. The truck then went into a ditch and rolled over, coming to a rest on its roof on an embankment.

The driver and his passenger were able to get out of the vehicle after the crash. They were taken to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent for treatment.
