PORTLAND, Maine — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Monday night that the two Maine teenagers who were believed to have run away were located in Oklahoma after they were involved in a high-speed chase that resulted in a crash.

One of the teens, 17-year-old Collette Boure of Standish, died due to injuries suffered in the crash, the Portland Press Herald is reporting.

The parents of both juveniles were notified, Goulet said.

Boure was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana, Texas, Goulet said. She was reported to the sheriff’s office as a runaway on Oct. 13.

The other missing teen, Alexander Meyers, 17, of Portland was reported to Portland police as a runaway on Oct. 21. He was taken into custody after the crash.

The teens initially were thought to be traveling together between Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Windham and Brunswick in a gray 2014 Toyota Corolla four-door sedan with Maine registration 21155T, the sheriff’s office said last week.

On Monday, however, the sheriff’s office and the Portland Police Department were notified by police in Idabel, Oklahoma, that they had located Boure and Meyers in their jurisdiction, Goulet said Monday night.

He said the teens were traveling in a stolen vehicle when a high-speed chase occurred and ended in the vehicle crashing.
