BANGOR, Maine — The South Senior All-Stars swept the North stars for the second straight year in the 22nd Maine Soccer Coaches Annual Senior Bowl at Husson University on Sunday.

The South boys prevailed 9-5 and the South girls won 2-1.

In the boys game, the South was led by three different double goal scorers with Shammah Gahomera of Westbrook, Ryan Moody of Bonny Eagle, and Kellen True of Telstar all punching in two apiece.

Single goals were scored by Yarmouth’s Henry Coolidge, Gorham’s Jackson Fotter and Temple Academy’s Caleb LaCroix, all unassisted. South assists were turned in by Noah Stracqualursi of Scarborough, who had two, and Coolidge with one.

For the North, goal scorers were John Bapst’s Alvaro Valls, who was assisted by Niko Knapp of Old Town, Messalonskee’s James Kouletsis (Kyle Beaulier of Ashland assist), and Washington Academy’s Oneka Lowe (Spencer Miranda of Winslow). Maulid Abdow of Lewiston and Colby Clarke of Ellsworth each added a goal and both were assisted by Lowe.

South goalkeepers were Will Peterson of Cheverus, John Henry Villanueva of Gray-New Gloucester, and Cameron Cyr of Sacopee Valley. The North goalies were Logan Butera of Foxcroft Academy, Issiac Christiansen of Sumner, Jacob Flewelling of Easton, Justin Thompson of Schenck, and George Payne of Bangor.

In the girls game, the South’s Madeline Wood of Madison and Richmond’s Meranda Martin each scored single goals and assisted each other to eke out the win.

The North All-Stars was led by Austin Taylor of Nokomis with a goal and Becky Lopez-Anido of Orono with an assist.

South goalies were Gorham’s Emma Smith, Lisbon’s Ali Sult, and Valley’s Samantha West, while the goalies for the North were Mt. Blue’s Addie Schanz, Orono’s Kaitlin Richards, and Penquis’ Jordan Durant.
