WALDOBORO, Maine — One person has died after a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer collided Wednesday morning on Route 1 in Waldoboro.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at 9:34 a.m. and remained at the scene near Bullwinkle’s Steakhouse nearly an hour later.
Waldoboro police Chief Bill Labombarde confirmed one fatality and said he does not believe there were any other injuries.
The tractor-trailer, which was traveling north, landed on its right side in the southbound lane of Route 1. Route 1 remains open, and crews were directing traffic around the crash.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police, Waldoboro Emergency Medical Services, the Waldoboro Fire Department and the Waldoboro Police Department were at the scene.
