PORTLAND, Maine — More than 1,000 community members gathered for a peaceful demonstration of love and solidarity Sunday around the Back Bay, lining up, joining hands, linking arms and raising their voices in song in a show of support for each other. They managed to create a line that reached a little over halfway around the cove.
