BREWER, Maine — Brewer police are investigating a car-pedestrian accident that occurred about 5:30 p.m. on Eastern Avenue.
Public Safety Director Jason Moffitt Friday evening that the pedestrian, whose name was not immediately released, was struck about 5:30 p.m. on Eastern Avenue, between Parkway North and Allison Park.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, Moffitt said.
Moffitt said shortly before 7 p.m. that an accident reconstruction specialist was called to the scene and that the road will remain closed until the investigation is completed.
He anticipated that Eastern Avenue will be closed for several hours and said that more information will be released when appropriate.
