DELRAY, Florida — The St. Bonaventure Bonnies plated three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday afternoon to earn a 4-3 victory over the University of Maine baseball team.

The loss drops coach Nick Derba’s Black Bears to 5-5. UMaine had won five of its last six contests entering the game.

UMaine led 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth, but Eddie Emerson and Jeff Gelinas could not record any outs as the Bonnies rallied for the win.

Ryan MacCarrick drove in the winning run with a single to center field.

Starter Nick Silva had a strong outing for the Black Bears, allowing one run on four hits while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Brandon Vincens was UMaine’s only repeat hitter with a double and a single while Jonathan Bennett, Christopher Bec and Danny Casals drove in a run apiece for the Black Bears.

Tommy LaCongo had one single and drove in two runs for St. Bonaventure.

Husson 9, Clark 3

At Winter Haven, Florida, Ryan Rebar hit three singles and drove in two runs as Husson University rolled past Clark.

Alex Chapman doubled and singled to drive in a pair of runs for the 2-2 Eagles. Sam Huston recorded three singles and two RBIs.

David Rotano singled in two runs for Clark (5-2).

Softball

Husson 7, Pittsburgh-Greensburg 1

At Leesburg, Florida, Brianna Bires tripled and singled to drive in three runs as Husson University rolled to a victory.

Chloe Gorey clubbed a two-run home run for Husson (5-2) while Alannah Healey pitched all seven innings and struck out six while allowing six hits.

Colleen Murphy and Jamie Schlelcher each had a pair of singles for Pittsburgh-Greensburg.
