AUBURN, Maine — A 16-year-old girl reported who had not been seen since Thursday called her family Saturday and is safe, the Sun Journal reported.
Her father told Auburn police that he thought the girl was heading south to meet an older man.
He credited social efforts to let people know she was missing may have prompted the girl to call a family member.
