A 19-year-old Bath woman was taken to Tufts University Hospital in Boston this weekend after she was attacked with a tire iron while sleeping at a party in Topsham early Sunday morning,
A 16-year-old Bath girl is charged with elevated aggravated assault in the case, The Forecaster reported Monday. She turned herself in and was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center.
The victim was initially taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick early Sunday morning and then taken to Tufts for treatment of injuries that could lead to a loss of vision, hearing and senses of smell and taste, Topsham Police Chief Chris Lewis told The Forecaster.
The victim’s mother told The Forecaster her daughter was sent home with medicine and a follow-up appointment.
