An alleged drunken driver struck a bicyclist with her car and left the bicyclist lying in the road on Saturday night in Brunswick.
Kristen Phillips, 35, of Brunswick was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and violation of conditions of release, according to the Brunswick Police Department.
She was released on $1,440 cash bail, and will make an initial court appearance Sept. 19 in Portland.
Emergency responders found Jonathan Menard, 23, of Brunswick lying in Bath Road near Autometrics shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday. He was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries.
Local law enforcement were given information on the crash and asked to keep a lookout for a car with front-end damage.
Soon after, Topsham police stopped a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis with front-end damage driven by Phillips. Police linked her car to the one involved in crash.
Phillips was arrested, and she was released on $1,440 cash bail with a court date of September 19 in Portland.
