A 15-year-old boy suffered serious injuries Saturday afternoon when when he was ejected from an ATV and struck a tree in Harpswell.
Three teenagers were riding a Polaris ATV around 2:05 p.m. Saturday when the crash occurred.
A 15-year-old boy from Florida was driving the ATV. A 13-year-old boy from Harpswell sat in the passenger’s seat while a 15-year-old boy from Connecticut stood in the back, holding onto the roll bar.
Neither of the 15-year-old boys wore a helmet.
The ATV went off the shoulder of a private road, tipping the ATV and throwing the Connecticut teenager into a tree.
The teen was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The police did not release the names of the three boys.
The crash remains under investigation.
