A Maine state trooper was injured Monday after his cruiser collided with a pickup truck and tractor-trailer.
Cpl. Joe Bureau was driving south along Route 11 responding to a burglary in progress around 3 p.m. when he crashed into a Chevy pickup truck at the intersection of routes 11 and 121.
A witness said Bureau’s cruiser hit a utility pole after striking the pickup, then swung back around and hit a tractor-trailer.
Witnesses said the driver of the Chevy was awake and talking to EMTs after the crash.
The driver of the pickup was flown by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with serious injuries, according to police.
Bureau also was taken to the hospital with apparent minor injuries.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
Firefighters doused the pickup with foam because it was leaking fluids, but it did not catch fire.
