A 33-year-old Brunswick man was arrested Thursday night and charged with robbing the local TD Bank branch earlier that day.
William Potter Hartley was charged with Class B felony robbery, according to a news release from Brunswick Police Cmdr. Mark Waltz.
Police received a tip Thursday identifying Hartley as the suspect in bank security camera photos circulated by police on Wednesday. Officers obtained a search warrant for Hartley’s home, but he was not there.
Hartley was arrested just before 10 p.m. at the Best Western Hotel on Gurnet Road, where he had rented a room, according to Waltz.
He remains in Cumberland County Jail on $10,040 cash bail pending an appearance in Portland Superior Court.
