A former city councilor is up against a former mayor for the 2017 mayor’s race.

Former four-term state Rep. Don Pilon, who served as mayor from 2013 to 2015, is competing against current County Commissioner Marston Lovell, who served as a city councilor from 2007 to 2013.

In the Ward 1 City Council race, two newcomers — Marshall Archer and Matthew DiCianni — are vying for a position being vacated by David Precourt.

Ward 2 City Councilor Roger Gay is running for re-election unopposed.

Ward 3 City Councilor William Doyle is running for re-election and is up against Saco Citizens for Responsible Government member Barbara Colman.

In Ward 4, former candidate Michael Burman is running again against Conservation Commission member Lynn Copeland.

Ward 5 City Councilor Alan Minthorn is running unopposed for re-election.

In Ward 6, there is a three-way race between current School Board member Theodore Sirois, newcomer Jason Boucher and newcomer Micah Smart for a seat being vacated by longtime City Councilor Eric Cote.

Ward 7 City Councilor Nathan Johnston is running for re-election unopposed.

School Board member Lynn Leary is running for re-election unopposed in Ward 3.

In Ward 4, Stephen Shipman is running unopposed for a seat being vacated by Kevin Lafortune.

In Ward 6, former School Board member Stanley Mozden is running unopposed for a seat being vacated by City Council candidate Sirois.

City council and mayor seats are two-year terms, while School Board seats are three-year terms.

Election Day is Nov. 7. Voting will take place at the Community Center at 75 Franklin St. from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
