Police say Ashley Hall, 26, was the woman killed in a Sept. 30 head-on collision on Route 3.
Officials released the names of those involved in the crash Wednesday but haven’t yet determined what caused the crash and continue to investigate.
The crash happened about 400 yards past the Belfast-Belmont town line, when a vehicle driven by Philip Hall, 47, of Swanville collided with an oncoming truck driven by David Cichowski, 63, of Washington.
Ashley Hall, who died at the scene, was a passenger in her father’s vehicle. Cheryl Cichowski was a passenger in the other vehicle, driven by her husband.
Cheryl Cichowski was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by LifeFlight helicopter, while both drivers were taken to Waldo County General Hospital for treatment of lesser injuries.
Police said it’s too early to know whether any charges might be filed in connection with the crash. They’re awaiting the results of vehicle examinations looking for any mechanical failures that might have contributed to the crash, as well as results of the drivers’ bloodwork.
Investigators initially asked for any witnesses to step forward to try to piece together what happened and have since interviewed several people who said they saw the crash.
