A 13-year-old boy shot a 12-year-old in Taunton, Massachusetts, Monday in what police there are characterizing as a result of “Facebook bullying,” the Taunton Daily Gazette reported.

The alleged victim was one of at least three juveniles who confronted the suspected shooter Monday after the boys had gotten into a dispute on Facebook, police told the Gazette.

Members of the group allegedly said something that threatened the 13-year-old, so he allegedly went inside his home nearby, unlocked a gun safe and retrieved his mother’s rifle. He allegedly then went back to where the other youths were and shot the alleged victim, who is currently in stable condition, the Gazette reported.

The juvenile suspect was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and discharging a weapon within 500 feet of a dwelling, the Gazette reported.
