Portland startup Veebie is placing a self-service kiosk in the city’s downtown for quick lunchtime access.

The bright orange rectangle on wheels, with a grid of 48 cubby doors resembling Post Office boxes, is stationed at the corner of Middle and Temple streets from 11:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, according to the Veebie website.

The kiosk is stocked by a different local restaurant each day of the week, and customers can check the available menu items through the Veebie website on their smartphones and place an order.

“Our market research finds that lunchtimes are shrinking, and office workers don’t want to spend their breaks waiting in line,” Veebie CEO Steven Sperry told the Portland Press Herald.

Food that goes unsold or uncollected by 1:30 p.m. is donated daily to the city’s Oxford Street Shelter.
