A Franklin County teenager is charged with theft.
Police said he stole more than $21,000 from the Wilton town office.
It happened just before the close of business Monday.
According to the Sun Journal, police said the 17-year-old took nearly $3,000 in cash and the rest in checks.
The majority of the money was recovered.
The Wilton town office is taking a closer look at its security measures.
