Firefighters responded Monday afternoon to a forest fire in Bradley, near Chemo Pond.
Maine Forest Rangers and local fire departments responded to the call, which came in around 3 p.m., said Ryan Carey, a firefighter in Holden. Chemo Pond is roughly 13 miles east of Bangor.
Carey said firefighters from Holden had just begun responding to the fire, which was still growing around 4 p.m. Monday. Smoke billowing from the blaze, as seen in a picture posted to the Maine Forest Rangers’ Facebook page, can be seen from Interstate 395, Carey said.
Crews don’t yet know the cause of the fire or how large it is, Carey said.
