The Boston Bruins placed forward David Krejci on injured reserve and recalled goaltender Zane McIntyre from Providence of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis, the team announced Monday.

Boston also recalled defenseman Rob O’Gara from Providence earlier in the day.

Krejci has missed the team’s last six games with a back injury sustained in the Bruins’ 6-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 19. The 31-year-old has collected one goal and five assists in six games this season.

Krejci has 158 goals and 374 assists in 711 career contests, all with Boston. He was selected by the Bruins in the second round of the 2004 NHL draft.

McIntyre has posted a 4-2-0 record with a 2.51 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in six games with Providence this season.

O’Gara, 24, appeared in one game for Boston against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 21, with 14:17 time on ice. He has two assists and a plus-four rating in seven games with Providence this season.

The 6-foot-4, 207-pound O’Gara was originally selected by Boston in the fifth round of the 2011 NHL draft. He played in three games for Boston last season.
