A 39-year-old Casco man died Saturday evening when the car he was driving crashed in Naples.
Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies discovered the crash just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday, shortly after it occurred on Edes Falls Road, according to a release from Capt. Don Goulet of the sheriff’s office.
Carroll L. Morton apparently turned left in a 2000 Subaru Forester from Route 11 onto Edes Falls Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree, totaling the Forester, Goulet said.
Naples firefighters extricated Morton from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
