A tractor-trailer hauling frozen potatoes overturned on Interstate 95 in Etna Tuesday morning, according to state police.

The truck driver, 55-year-old Donald Greenwood of Ellsworth, veered and flipped into the southbound breakdown lane after he overcorrected the steering wheel, said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Greenwood was not injured in the crash, which occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at mile marker 167 in Etna, McCausland said.

The toppled truck shut down one southbound lane of traffic on the highway Tuesday.

Troopers were on the scene investigating the crash throughout the morning, while crews arrived in the afternoon to offload potatoes, McCausland said.
