Game wardens reported Monday that they found Nancy Michaud, the East Millinocket woman who went missing after she went for a hike in the North Woods on Sunday.

According to Maine Warden Service Cpl. John MacDonald, Michaud and her car were found Monday afternoon stuck along a remote dirt road near Hurd Pond approximately 40 miles northwest of Baxter State Park.

Michaud was somewhat dehydrated but otherwise in good health, MacDonald said. Game wardens escorted her back to Millinocket.

Michaud had been reported missing after driving her 2012 Nissan Sentra through the Caribou North Maine Woods Gate on Sunday, according to the Maine Warden Service. The checkpoint is on the Golden Road, west of Caribou Lake.

She had reportedly been going to hike Katahdin or an area in the Jo-Mary region Sunday.
