On Tuesday voters in Yarmouth will be deciding on a new public safety building that would transform how local law enforcement operates.
The project would cost an estimated $8.5 million dollars.

The goal would be to build a brand new building where the fire station is now, which would house the Yarmouth Fire Department and police department.
The community would create a central command center for public safety officers to respond in crisis situations and also give all three entities more room.
Fire Chief Michael Robitaille says their station is 42 years old and they’ve simply outgrown it.
“By putting us all under one roof we’re actually saving the taxpayers money rather than building a police station in 10 years and a fire station now and then community services later,” says Robitaille.
