The Bangor Daily News’ archive of photos and articles goes back more than a century. There’s a treasure trove of old pictures of people and places in eastern Maine throughout the decades, in formats ranging from digital to microfiche to paper copies. As we go through our archives and attempt to digitize some of them, we’ll periodically compile photo galleries showcasing favorite parts of the year.

First up? The holidays, of course, starting with photos from the early 1950s and running through the early 2000s. Enjoy!
