A man and dog were pulled from the Royal River in North Yarmouth, where they fell through the ice Thursday.
The incident happened off Southerly View Road.
The North Yarmouth Fire Department says the man was walking his two dogs when one of them ran down to the river and fell through.
He tried to rescue the dog but fell through as well.
Firefighters in wet suits were able to rescue the man and the dog.
