Maine State Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found in an apartment in downtown South Paris on New Year’s Day, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The bodies of Heather Bickford, 31, of Canton and Dana Hill, 31, who was renting the apartment, were found at about 8 p.m. in a first-floor apartment in Market Square.
Bickford’s two children, ages 2 months and 8, also were found in the apartment. The children, who were uninjured, have been placed in the custody of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday at the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
