Jeff Brickman, president and CEO of Central Maine Healthcare, said the hospital will add a walk-in clinic near its Bridgton Hospital location to give patients faster access to primary care. This June 14, 2018 photo was taken in the lobby of Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

A new walk-in clinic where patients can get fast primary care and laboratory services is being set up in Bridgton.

Central Maine Healthcare plans to open the North Bridgton Family Practice and Walk-In Clinic on Feb. 15 at 14 Wyonegonic Road. It will augment the existing North Bridgton Family Practice location.

“We heard from the community that access to primary care was their most important health care concern,” Jeff Brickman, president and CEO of Central Maine Healthcare, said in a statement.

“And we know that the community wants same-day options, without having to wait for an appointment or make an expensive visit to the ER,” he said. “This is a big step toward meeting those needs.”

The clinic will be open from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Patients will not need to have an existing relationship with the practice, Bridgton Hospital or Central Maine Healthcare to use the service.

Bridgton Hospital, which is part of Central Maine Healthcare, has an emergency room. The new clinic will offer fast service that will be billed at a practice visit level, which is significantly lower than an emergency room visit.

More accessible care options are forthcoming in the Lakes Region in southwestern Maine, according to Central Maine Healthcare.
