The No. 3 South Portland boys defeated No. 6 Sanford 65-39 in Wednesday night’s AA South quarterfinal game to earn a spot in the semifinals.
South Portland improves its record to 11-8. Sanford ends its season at 6-13.

South Portland will move on to face the winner of Thursday night’s matchup between Bonny Eagle and Massabesic. The teams will face off in the semifinals on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
South Portland made it to the AA South finals last year before falling to Scarborough, 55-43.
