Top-seed Thornton Academy maintained an early lead against No. 8 Noble to emerge victorious in Wednesday’s AA South quarterfinal matchup with a final score of 66-29.
Thornton Academy improves to 15-4 on the season. Noble ends its season at 3-16.

Thornton Academy will advance to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of tonight’s contest between No. 5 Scarborough (10-8) at No. 4 Gorham (11-7) on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Thornton Academy was ousted from last year’s tourney in the semifinal round, falling to South Portland 51-36.
