No. 9 Maranacook enjoyed an upset Thursday night after defeating No. 8 Spruce Mountain 34-21 in a B South preliminary game to earn a spot in the first round of the 2018 tourney.
Maranacook’s record improves to 10-9. Spruce Mountain’s season ends at 8-11.
The team will play again on Tuesday, Feb. 19, when Maranacook faces off against No. 1 Gray-New Gloucester in the quarterfinals.
