The No. 4 Valley girls of Bingham made quick work of No. 5 Forest Hills of Jackman on Saturday, outscoring their opponents 52-29 in a Class D South quarterfinal match at the Cross Center in Bangor.

Valley took a commanding early lead, opening up a 11-1 score at the end of the first quarter. That lead extended to 22-7 at the half, and 41-14 at the end of the third quarter. Forest Hills was able to close the score a bit late in the game.

Valley’s record improves to 10-9 for the season. Forest Hills season ends at 7-12.

Valley will play again in the semifinals on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Augusta Civic Center. The team will play the winner of today’s match between No. 1 Rangeley (17-1) vs. No. 8 Seacoast Christian (2-16).
