The second-seeded Waynflete School boys’ basketball team topped No. 7 Old Orchard Beach Monday by a 67-32 score to advance in the Class C South bracket in Augusta.
The Flyers improve to 15-2 and move on to a semifinal-round matchup on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center.
Old Orchard Beach ends its season with a 9-11 record.
Waynflete last reached the semifinals in 2017, when they were knocked out by Madison High School.
Old Orchard Beach was eliminated during the preliminary rounds in 2018 and 2017, and reached the quarterfinals in 2016, when they were defeated by Winthrop High School.
