The second-seeded Bonny Eagle High School of Standish rallied in the fourth quarter to top South Portland High School by a score of 55-50 Tuesday night in a boys’ Class AA South semifinal round matchup at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
South Portland got out to an early lead, including a 7-2 run to start the first quarter. The Red Riots led 19-12 to start the second quarter, and their lead shortened by one point to end the half at 26-20. South Portland widened their lead 42-34 to start the fourth quarter, before Bonny Eagle went on a 14-2 run.
The Scots improve to 17-3 and move on to the regional final Friday at 8 p.m. in Portland. Bonny Eagle last reached the regional final in 2014, when the Scots were knocked out by Portland High School.

The Scots defeated Massabesic High School of Waterboro Thursday in the quarterfinals, 49-34, while South Portland reached the semis by beating Sanford High School, 65-39, on Wednesday.
South Portland was in the Class AA South final last season, losing to Scarborough High School. The Red Riots end their season with an 11-9 record.
