The third-seed Freeport Falcons defeated No. 6 Mountain Valley 49-37 in a Tuesday morning B South girls quarterfinal tournament game to move on to the next round.
Freeport’s record now improves to 15-4, while Mountain Valley’s season ends at 13-6.

The Falcons will next play on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Portland Cross Insurance Arena, as they take on the winner of today’s Oak Hill-Cape Elizabeth quarterfinal match.
B South Quarters: No. 3 Freeport (14-4) vs. No. 6 Mountain Valley (13-5)
Freeport made it to the B South finals in 2018 before being ousted by regional champs Lake Region, 42-34.
