With a 64-61 semifinal round win over second-seeded Maranacook High School Thursday, No. 3 Cape Elizabeth High School became the highest seeded team left in the Class B South boys’ bracket and advanced to its second straight regional final.
Top-seeded Mountain Valley High School was upset in the quarterfinals by No. 8 Wells High School.

The Class B South final is scheduled to be played at 2:45 p.m. Saturday back at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
Maranacook, of Readfield, has two state championships in its history, winning gold balls in 2006 and 2008.
The Capers reached the Class B South final last season, but lost a competitive matchup to Wells, 40-35. Cape Elizabeth won the state championship in 2015.
Maranacook was eliminated from the tournament in the quarterfinals each of the last two seasons.
The Capers improve to 13-7 with the win, while the Black Bears finish their season at 17-3.
