North Yarmouth Academy came into their Class C South girls semifinal matchup against Winthrop as the underdogs, but the Panthers dominated the game beginning to end to win 55-34 at the Augusta Civic Center and earn their spot in the regional finals.

NYA, the third seed in this year’s tournament, makes the appearance after having not qualified for the C South tournament in 2018. Their season record improves to 16-4. This will be their first appearance in a regional final in two decades.

No. 2 Winthrop’s season ends at 17-3.

The Panthers will face the winner of today’s semifinal game between Boothbay-Madison. The regional final will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7:05 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center.
