An Old Town couple died after a one-car crash on Interstate 95 in Plymouth on Friday afternoon, Maine State Police said.

The driver, 78-year-old Clyde Grant, and his wife, 76-year-old Catherine Grant, died at the scene, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

At around 12:30 p.m., the car left the northbound lane and struck a tree in the median. Troopers think Clyde Grant might have suffered from a medical event because his car left the lane, McCausland said.
