LINCOLN, N.H. — Authorities in New Hampshire are looking for a 70-year-old hiker in the White Mountain National Forest who had called his wife several days ago to say he was just about out of water.
WMUR-TV reports authorities said the Massachusetts man set out on a 30-mile trek Sunday night on the Pemigewasset Loop Trail in Lincoln. He called his wife Monday about his water situation and said he would be a few hours later than expected.
Eighteen different teams, including the Air National Guard, have been searching for the man. Radio and cellphone coverage is not good in the wilderness area. The search was expected to resume Thursday.
The man’s name hasn’t been released.
