The state fire marshal’s office is investigating a fire that started Monday morning in Standish.

Standish fire Chief Rob Caron said the fire was reported just before 7:30 a.m. after a firefighter saw smoke coming from the area.

When crews arrived, they found the home at the end of Musselman Road engulfed in flames.

Caron said no one was at the home, which might have been vacant, when they arrived.

He said getting water up the narrow road was an issue for crews and there were several explosions, likely from propane tanks near the house.

Crews from several different departments helped fight the fire.

No one was hurt.

Caron said at this point they are calling this fire suspicious.
