A Walgreens in Augusta was robbed Saturday night.

An unidentified suspect entered the Walgreens on Western Avenue about 10 p.m. and threatened the use of a weapon and demanded money, Deputy Chief Kevin D. Lully of the Augusta Police Department said.

The suspect then fled the scene before police arrived, Lully said.

He described the suspect as a white man, who is between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet tall and was wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt, jeans, dark shoes and a white facial covering.

The robbery remains under investigation.

The Saturday night robbery comes days after a similar robbery at a Quick Mart on Western Avenue. In that robbery on Wednesday evening, a suspect with a similar description entered the store, threatened the use of a weapon and demanded money, Augusta police said last week.

Anyone with information about either robbery can call the Augusta Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau at 207-626-2370, ext. 3418.
