Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland has temporarily closed two of its off-site practices after a worker there was found to have the coronavirus, according to the hospital’s parent group.

The hospital has been reaching out to people who had contact with the person who worked at the Westgate Plaza, which holds two practices offering physical therapy and lymphedema care, according to the hospital website.

That person is now self-isolating at home, “being monitored and doing well,” according to Northern Light Health spokesperson Suzanne Spruce. As a result of the positive test, the hospital has closed the practices for at least two weeks.

The hospital did not say what position the worker holds and how much contact the person may have had with patients.

“We took swift measures to contact all patients and staff who were potentially exposed,” Spruce said. “Additionally, we advised affected patients and staff to contact their primary care providers, and, following CDC recommendations, to self-quarantine for 14 days.”
