A Limington man has been charged in Friday’s armed robbery of a Portland convenience store.

Alfred H. Larrabee, 36, was charged with armed robbery, according to Portland police Lt. Robert Martin.

Larrabbee allegedly entered the 7-Eleven on Forest Avenue about 4 a.m. Friday and brandished a black semi-automatic handgun, demanding money from a clerk, according to police.

The clerk, who was the only other person in the store, complied and Larrabbee allegedly fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk was not injured in the robbery.

Martin said Monday morning that Larrabbee was identified from images taken from the store’s surveillance cameras, and he was arrested about 7 p.m. Friday as he entered the parking lot of the Embassy Suites Hotel on Westbrook Street in Portland.

Larrabee is being held at the Cumberland County Jail.
