The Good Life Center is proud to announce the hiring of Kevin O’Hanlon of Brooksville as manager of the historic homestead of Helen and Scott Nearing. O’Hanlon will oversee the maintenance of the buildings and grounds, greenhouse, orchard, and demonstration garden. Along with the resident stewards, he will welcome visitors from around the world to a meaningful and inspirational experience.

Originally from Ireland, O’Hanlon has been a long-time seasonal visitor to the Blue Hill Peninsula before moving to Brooksville in 2020 where he is creating a homestead with his partner. Before Maine, O’Hanlon lived in New York where he worked as a broker on Wall Street, a documentary filmmaker, and owner of an art gallery in Chelsea with a philanthropic mission to support children of need in conflict zones around the world (RogueFoundation.org). During his tenure, the Good life Center will apply for national historic designation.

O’Hanlon says, “Having enjoyed the Good Life Center, its gardens, design, and especially the speaker series, I am excited and honored to help carry forward the vital teachings of Scott and Helen Nearing and to deepen my relationship with this vibrant community.”
