Deer Isle entered their rematch with Machias unbeaten and having won the first matchup by a score of 61-31.
The Lady Bulldogs of Machias knew they would have their work cut for them. The game would see many lead changes throughout the first three quarters as DIS entered the fourth clinging to a four point lead 34-30.
Senior Luna Perry-St. Peter had scored 27 points for Deer Isle when she picked up her 5th foul driving to the basket.
Machias knew it had to continue to pound the ball inside and it paid off. Junior center Jaydin Anderson scored two quick buckets before fouling out herself and Skyler Tinker sealed the the win for the Lady Bulldogs as Machias outscored Deer Isle 17-5 in the final frame.
Anderson finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds and Tinker scored 19 points to go along with 15 rebounds for Machias in the win. Machias improved to 12- 4 on the season.
