Former UMaine men’s hockey player Adrian Holesinsky and his Slovakian team upset the United States 3-2 in a shootout and will now face Finland in the semifinals.
Holesinsky did not play in the game and has not played in the last two games after playing in the first two.
He has not registered a goal or an assist.
On the women’s side, UMaine ice hockey sophomore winger Rahel Enzler will not be bringing a bronze medal back to campus.
Enzler’s Swiss team was shut out by Finland 4-0 in their semifinal on Wednesday.
She saw 8 minutes and 48 seconds of ice time in the game.
She appeared in all of Switzerland’s games but failed to dent the scoresheet.
